In accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2005, Mohamed Sathak Hamid College of Arts and Science for Women ensures transparency, accountability, and openness in all institutional operations.
The College recognizes every citizen’s right to seek information from public authorities and is committed to upholding the principles of good governance and public participation as envisaged in the Act.
To provide a systematic process for citizens to obtain information from the College.
To ensure compliance with all provisions of the RTI Act 2005 and related UGC directions.
To establish a mechanism for receiving, processing, and responding to RTI applications in a time-bound manner.
To promote transparency in administration through a responsive RTI framework.
An RTI Cell has been constituted to coordinate and monitor all matters related to the implementation of the RTI Act in the College. The Cell supports the designated officers in receiving and processing RTI applications and maintains records of information requests and responses.

Public Information Officer (PIO) - Receives applications, collects information from relevant departments, and furnishes replies within 30 days as stipulated by the Act.
Assistant PIO (APIO) - Assists the PIO in maintaining registers, forwarding requests, and facilitating timely responses.
Appellate Authority - Considers appeals from applicants who are not satisfied with the decision of the PIO and ensures a fair redressal process.
RTI Records Coordinator - Maintains the RTI register, keeps copies of applications and replies, and supports record retrieval whenever required.
Any citizen of India seeking information under the Right to Information Act may submit a written application to the College’s Public Information Officer (PIO).

Regular awareness sessions are organized for staff to familiarize them with the provisions of the RTI Act, record-keeping procedures, and timely disclosure of information in accordance with UGC and Government guidelines.
Information exempt under Section 8 of the RTI Act, 2005 (such as personal privacy, security, and commercially confidential matters) shall not be disclosed.
