Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) - Administration

Overview

Mohamed Sathak Hamid College of Arts and Science for Women has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in accordance with The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015.

The ICC functions as a statutory body under the administrative framework of the College to prevent, prohibit, and redress sexual harassment at the workplace. It ensures a safe, equitable, and gender-just environment for all students and staff members.

Objectives

  • To prevent incidents of sexual harassment and promote a gender-sensitive campus culture.

  • To provide a neutral, confidential, and fair platform for redressal of complaints.

  • To ensure institutional compliance with UGC and statutory provisions.

  • To conduct awareness programmes and capacity-building initiatives on gender equity.

Functions

  • To receive written complaints of sexual harassment from any student or employee.

  • To conduct impartial inquiries based on due process and the principles of natural justice.

  • To maintain strict confidentiality and fairness in all proceedings.

  • To submit findings and recommendations to the Head of the Institution for appropriate action.

  • To organize awareness and sensitization programmes for staff and students.
