The Department of Commerce with CA, in association with IIC, MSHCASW, organized a one-day workshop on “Angel Investment/VC Funding Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” on 20.09.2025. The event was presided over by Dr. M. Meera, Principal, MSHCASW. The program began with the recitation of Qirath by Ms. A. Ramzan Afriha, III B.Com CA, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. S. Noorul Raseena, II B.Com CA.
Ms. Emimol Grace, Assistant Professor, The American College, Madurai, delivered the keynote address, covering key aspects of angel investment, venture capital processes, startup valuation, and investor expectations. Real-life examples of successful startups were also discussed, inspiring and guiding early-stage entrepreneurs.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. A. Thilras Ashika, II B.Com CA. The program was hosted by Ms. S. Deepiga, III B.Com CA, and Ms. K. Bismi Parveen, and was coordinated by Ms. T. Thajithabanu, Head, Department of Commerce with Computer Application.

She highlighted the challenges faced during her startup journey and explained how perseverance, innovation, and determination helped her achieve success.

Training and Placement Cell organized a two-day training program on “AI Livelihoods” on 08.09.2025 and 09.09.2025. The program focused on creating awareness about the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping future careers and livelihood opportunities. The sessions included expert talks, interactive discussions, and hands-on demonstrations, enabling students to explore AI applications across various sectors. The program also highlighted the importance of acquiring AI skills through platforms like Coursera and other professional certifications. Students actively participated in the sessions and gained valuable insights into career opportunities, industry expectations, and the future of work in the AI-driven world. The training program proved highly beneficial in enhancing their employability skills and preparing them for upcoming placement drives.
